Reeve Butchers in Clanfield has been a popular stop off with guests one of whom takes back a selection of meat for her freezer back home! They sell free range meat plus a selection of cheese and homemade pies in their deli, delicious! Find out more…

Watercress growing is big business in Hampshire supplying much of the watercress sold across the country. The Watercress Line that runs between Alresford and Alton enabled watercress to be grown commercially and transported quickly due to the fast train link. Much of the watercress you buy at the supermarket has been grown by The Watercress Company who have watercress farms locally in Alresford. 

ChalkStream farm delicious trout which is raised in the Rivers Test and Itchen in Hampshire, both being clear chalk stream water. You can find the trout sold at events in the summer or buy from their online shop. Find out more…

There are many small drinks producers the county, including one on the Wallops Wood Estate! Bowman Brewery is a short walk from your cottage where you can buy a great selection of real ales. You’ll also find one in in your welcome pack! Hill Farm Juice produce very tasty apple juice and you’ll also find a bottle in your welcome pack. Just down the road is Hambledon Vineyard who produce some particularly delicious sparkling wines. You can read about more local drinks producers on one of our past blog posts.

Cheese is very popular produce around here and there’s no shortage of cheesemakers locally! Producers include the Hampshire Cheese Co, Lyburn Cheese, Four Brothers Cheese and Two Hoots Cheese.

Unique to Hampshire is Hampshire Fare which has an annual Food Festival across the county each year for the whole of the month of July. You can download a brochure here to find out what’s on during your stay. The festival has everything from shows and demonstrations, tastings, BBQs and markets.
