Rest & Relaxation in the Hampshire Countryside

Taking a break from work and daily life is important no matter what time of year it is. A break is just as beneficial in the winter as in the summer, and most of all, important for your mental health. Just switching off, going somewhere different can do wonders, and it’s no surprise that we’re busy with bookings all year round.

Autumn and winter can be a great time to take a break and there’s always plenty to do here. Being right in the heart of the South Downs National Park, we’re surrounded by nature so it’s a wonderful place to unwind. There’s plenty of places to visit too with Winchester, Southampton & Portsmouth all within a 30 minute drive.

Wallops Wood is surrounded by beautiful countryside

Get Out Into Nature

Our guests love the fact that we’re away from traffic noise and the bright lights of the city. If it’s peace and quiet you’re after, you’ll definitely find it here! Out in the middle of the countryside it’s the shrill sound of birdsong that you’ll hear instead, along with the hooting of the tawny owls at night. On a clear night, go outside onto the patio and stare at the stars. The South Downs is also an International Dark Sky Reserve so make the most of it and spend an evening stargazing from the warmth of your hot tub!

There are many wonderful walks in the area, several which can be taken from the doorstep, so you don’t have to drive. You can download some walks here, all of varying length and some taking in a stop at a pub along the way.

Our Cosy Cottages

We’ve designed our cottages to be as cosy and comfortable as possible all year round. When the cottages were constructed, good insulation was a key part of the build to ensure energy isn’t wasted, and the warmth stays inside. Each cottage has underfloor heating beneath oak floors throughout and a wood burning stove so it’s toasty warm even on the coldest days!

Relax by the wood burner at Wallops Wood

Each cottage has its own warm hot tub on the patio which are a feature very much enjoyed by our guests. Warm yourself in the evening, enjoy the amazing sunset or gaze into the night skies while you enjoy your favourite tipple.

Our swimming pool is heated to a very comfortable 30 degrees celsius so a great place to relax. Each cottage can reserve their own swim slot so you can have the pool to yourself. Underfloor heating surrounds the pool keeping your toes warm when you get out!

Wallops Wood is the perfect place for a relaxing break at any time of the year, allowing you to get away from the busyness of the daily lives we lead, switch off and immerse yourself in the amazing countryside that surrounds us.
