Wallops Wood Cottages wins SILVER for National Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year

We are delighted to announce that we wowed the judges to win SILVER for VisitEngland’s Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year.

The prestigious Awards for Excellence 2020 ceremony was streamed live over the internet with finalists attending via Zoom to receive their awards on Monday evening, 17 August 2020.

Wallops Wood Cottages collected GOLD at the regional awards for the South East in both Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year and the Access and Inclusivity Award categories. These achievements ensured entry to the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2020. Finalists were announced in July, and we were among the top three for Self Catering Accommodation of the Year.

In early 2020 we:

  • Completed the building of a steam room in the swimming pool complex.
  • Built and stocked a shop for guests.
  • Installed an EV (electric vehicle) charger in the car park.
  • Installed two additional disabled parking bays.

And since reopening after Lockdown, we’ve achieved:

  • Visit Britain’s We’re Good To Go award.
  • The AA’s Covid Confident accreditation.
  • Won Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice 2020 (particularly prized because this award is based on guest reviews and only 10% of holiday accommodation providers worldwide achieve this!).
  • Won SILVER for VisitEngland’s National Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year.
