The Hampshire Christmas Markets

It’s that time of year when we all begin to set our minds to Christmas, and the usual dilemma of what to buy friends and family.

Some of the best places for Christmas shopping are Christmas markets. With a festive atmosphere, not only do they get you into the mood for shopping (not always easy!), but you’ll find some unusual, local and handmade products that are unavailable elsewhere. Not only are you supporting the local community, but small independent traders who care about the products they sell.

We have several Christmas markets local to Wallops Wood, with Winchester being one of the best in the area. Find out more below:

Winchester Christmas Market
This market is always popular in a beautiful setting next to Winchester Cathedral. The market has over 100 stalls ranging from food to crafts, so there’s pretty much something for everyone.

Starts Thursday 21 November to Sunday 22 December 2019

Find out more on the Winchester Christmas Market website for times and access.

While you’re there you might want to make the most of your day and book a skate on the ice rink next to the market. The ice rink is open from 21 November until 5 January 2020. More details can be found here.

The market has over 40 stallholders offering a range of hand-made gifts including wooden toys, baskets, soaps, lamps, jewellery and decorations.

Christmas Market at the Weald & Downland Museum
The Weald & Downland Museum’s Christmas Market sees over 200 stands – selling arts, crafts, food, unusual gifts and much more, with stalls in our collection of rescued historic buildings and houses, in our award-winning Gridshell building and around other locations on the Museum site. This is a fantastic location for a market, at a fascinating museum and will be well worth the visit. Although not strictly in Hampshire, the museum is just a few miles from Chichester.

From 22 – 24 November 2019.
