Most of us prefer to take a short break away at the weekend, but in fact there are many advantages of taking a break mid-week instead! We often get last minute bookings for mid-week breaks when guests decide they want a few days away and can’t find suitable accommodation to cover a weekend or just want to get away when it’s less busy and cheaper.
There’s often more choice if you decide to take a break mid-week rather at a weekend, as there tend to be less mid-week bookings particularly during term time.
This is a big advantage as mid-week is very often cheaper than booking short breaks over a weekend! That gives you a bit of extra cash for a meal out or to go shopping!
Most accommodation is less crowded during the week which is a big advantage, particularly at the moment if you’re really trying to avoid anywhere crowded. A break is usually a chance to get away from it all for a few days and have some peace and quiet, which you’ll definitely get with less people about.
Attractions Less Crowded
Now that most attractions require advance booking for visitors, you’re much more likely to be able to book a ticket, and also find there are less people visiting at the same time, making for a more enjoyable day out.
The weather may not be the best during the autumn and winter months but you can still visit the many attractions in the area with local museums, galleries, large houses and historic towns to visit. Enjoy a brisk autumn walk in the countryside with a stop at a local cafe or pub. Our cottages are well insulated and warm with underfloor heating and a wood burner for you to snuggle up to after a day out.
Our heated swimming pool is open all year round, just pre-book your slot and enjoy a warm swim after a day out sightseeing.
We have mid-week availability in a number of our cottages from now until mid-December. Check availability below or just contact us for further information!
