Summer Feast Success!

Last week we hosted two pop-up events in Silver Birch Cottage – our Summer Feasts were a huge success with everyone who attended.

All these photo were taken by Anna Wierzbinska, a fantastic lady with a huge sense of humour and zest for life who talks all things food on her instagram post. We are grateful Anna! x

These not for profit events were organised by ourselves and Hambledon Vineyard to showcase the depth and breadth of amazing produce and drinks we are blessed with in the county of Hampshire.

Hill Farm Juice and South Downs Water – co-sponsors.

Held during the Hampshire Fare Food Festival (still running throughout this month), we asked raw food chef Deborah Durrant to prepare a menu for us that would show off the IOW Garlic Farm and the IOW Tomatoes, the beautiful New Forest Mushrooms and micro leaves and greens from Lilliput Leaves.

We also took delivery of amazing raspberries and strawberries from Bourne Valley Farm near Romset for our dessert which also included the stunning amber liquid from Moonroast Coffee, used as a reduction to layer the dessert with unctuous roasted coffee. Just stunning all round!

We also were very lucky that South Downs Water and Hill Farm Juice offered their bottled water and apple juice respectively. We used South Downs Water in our welcome drink to accompany our locally foraged elderflower cordial, raspberry and rhubarb cordial and nettle cordial! A real hit with everyone and also a definite thirst quencher for both events!

Hill Farm Juice offered their Bramley apple juice and also a small bottle for the gift bags! We offer this magic juice to all our guests at Wallops Wood, they feature in our locally sourced welcome basket of goodies. Just like us Hill Farm is a family farm and as neighbours we always try to encourage each other and support each other in our businesses.

All who came had a wonderful time and totally enjoyed something completely different – a new cuisine that delivered flavour bombs of Hampshire’s best . Thank you to everyone who supported us, the producers and the chef – it means a lot that all of you came, saw, tasted and drank!
