It may still be January, but it won’t be long before the days draw out and we’re thinking ahead to the Easter holidays. It’s a great time to get away for a few days and spend time outside enjoying the longer days and looking out for the signs of spring 🌷🐣
Wallops Wood is situated in the heart of the countryside, perfect for peace and tranquillity but there’s still plenty to do within a short drive. Our cottages and woodland houses are comfortable and spacious and make a fantastic retreat for family gatherings.
Our accommodation has been designed so that all family members enjoy their stay, from the youngest to the oldest members of the family – and not forgetting the dog! This makes our accommodation perfect for larger family gatherings and get togethers. Our accommodation is spacious and includes oak floors with underfloor heating and a wood burner in each cottage and house. Each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom or wet room. For family members who need a bit of extra help, accessibility is built in to the design of all our accommodation. Additional accessible equipment is available on request and you can find out more on our Accessibility page.
For the youngest family members we can also provide additional equipment to make life easier such as high chairs, travel cots, sterilisers, walkers and buggies. Find out more about what we provide for families on our Families page.
Dogs also get their own welcome pack, saving you bringing bowls and beds. Find out more about bringing your dog to Wallops Wood on our Dogs page.
Along with the interior comfort and equipment provided, each cottage has its own garden and patio area with a hot tub. Perfect for relaxation and watching the sun go down or stargazing with a glass of bubbly!
If you don’t fancy cooking on the day you arrive or on one of the days you’re staying with us, then make the most of our farmhouse cooked meals which you can order 7 days in advance. Our heated indoor swimming pool is very popular with our guests! Each cottage and holiday house has its own daily 45 minute swim slot which means you get to have the pool to yourselves. This makes it perfect for teaching the little ones to swim or use the pool for exercise and improve your technique! Make sure you make the most of the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi while you’re there. There is a hoist by the pool enabling our accessible guests to also make full use of the pool and jacuzzi.
To book your swim slot, just use the boards displayed at the entrance of the swimming pool complex and book your preferred time.
Our games room is a great place to entertain the kids, particularly on days when the weather may not be that great. The games room has a selection of games and play areas for everyone from little ones right up to big kids!
Games include a wendy house, interactive toys, soft play, table tennis, a train set and boxes of toys and a pool table.
Our on-site shop is frequently used by our guests who can pop in for gifts, farmhouse meals as well as some food essentials while staying with us.
It’s open from 8am to 8pm every day and to enter you just need to use the black key fob that is in your cottage. Stock includes:
- Meals and desserts made in our farmhouse kitchen which are available from the freezer
- Butter and soft drinks
- Nespresso capsules
- New Forest Aromatics products
- Food basics such as rice, pasta and cereal
- Baking baskets (which include ingredients needed to make brownies, decorated biscuits and gingerbread in your cottage)
The baking baskets are great to while away a rainy afternoon with the kids and everyone can enjoy the end results!
We’re very fortunate to be situated in beautiful South Downs countryside which means there are plenty of walks you can take from the doorstep of your cottage.
Walks vary from short (around 30 minutes), to longer walks which can also take in a drink or lunch at one of our local dog friendly pubs.
If it’s particularly muddy, we have outside taps with warm and cold water where you can wash your dog before returning back to your cottage.
