Pumpkin Carving at Wallops Wood

It’s almost half term and over the next week there’s lots going on including our annual pumpkin carving competition and treasure trail!

If you’re staying with us over the half term holiday (between Friday 21st and Friday 28th October), every child will receive a pumpkin on arrival – which are sourced from a farm just a few miles away from Wallops Wood. Let your children’s imagination run wild! If you want to enter our competition, try and carve the spookiest, scariest pumpkin you can! This is the 3rd year we have run the competition and children absolutely love it. Share your pictures and tag us on Facebook or Instagram (@wallopswoodcottages) to win a prize.

Spooky Treasure Trail

On Thursday 27th October at 2pm is our 3rd annual Spooky Treasure Trail around Wallops Wood Cottages. Over 50 spooky Halloween riches are hidden around the meadow and Cottages site with clues to find them placed outside the cottages front doors before the start time. How many of the riches will your children find? To win a prize, share your pictures on Facebook or Instagram and tag us in (@wallopswoodcottages). Prizes are awarded on the morning of Friday 28th October (or posted to you if you have already returned home).

The treasures are crocheted and washable at 30°C. This is an outdoor activity and outdoor footwear is essential. Please supervise young children (Halloween treasures have been placed in plastic zip-lock bags so that they are weatherproof). Please re-use/recycle the bags.

Share your pictures on on our Facebook page, or email them to us at the office on unwind@wallopswoodcottages.co.uk – we love to see them!
