Our Four Accessible Holiday Cottages

When Wallops Wood Cottages were established, our holiday cottages were built with accessibility in mind. The vision for Wallops Wood was to be inclusive for all, which meant everyone, whatever their age or ability.

We’ve worked hard to ensure our accessible guests are comfortable when they stay here and have all their needs met. In 2020 we won the Gold Award for the Accessible and Inclusive Tourism Award for the best accessible self-catering accommodation in the South. We’re really proud of this award and continually strive for the highest standards for our accessible guests.

Our Accessible Cottages

Four of our cottages have more accessible features for our disabled guests. These are Woodbrook, Teal, Hedgehunter and Silver Birch. Although they have been built with accessibility in mind, the design has been done in such a way that it isn’t noticeable and comfortable and cosy for anyone wishing to stay here.

Woodbrook is a 2 bedroom cottage with two bathrooms including a wet room. Facilities include touch activated lamps by the bedsides, height adjustable basin and alarm pull cord. The door of the oven is side opening and a lower work top in the kitchen where a hob and 2 ring electric hob can be placed upon request. The under-sink cabinets can be removed to enable wheelchair access upon request.

Upon request, a convection oven, microwave and 2 ring electric hob can be placed on the lowered section of the worktop. There is an electric reclining chair in the sitting area.
