Chiphall Lake

Whether you're a regular angler, or have always fancied having a go, you can get a day licence, hire equipment, and book tuition at Chiphall Lake, or if you are licenced and have your own kit, just pay for a few hours to catch a few fish. Well stocked with Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout and some Golden Trout, 4.5 acres of clear water fed from the river Meon with good accessibility.

Dawn Venture Sea Fishing

If you fancy a day of sea fishing, you can charter this well-equipped boat . The skipper is very experienced, having chartered in the area for over 30 years. Catering for all types of sea fishing, and all abilities from novice to expert.

Lower Itchen Fishery

(16.5 miles)

Set amidst picturesque water meadows, the fishery is set on the longest stretch of the River Itchen in private ownership. The fishery offers primarily brown trout and salmon fishing. Night sea trout fishing is also available later in the season together with excellent grayling fishing. The fishing is offered on a full or half rod basis with a limited number of 'day tickets' available on a pre-booking basis only. Equipment can be hired and a ghillie booked for advice or tuition.

Meon Springs Fly Fishing

Located in a beautiful setting, on the headwaters of the Meon River, with a café in the fishery lodge to keep you going. With one ticket, you can enjoy the main lakes and the catch and release beat, giving you a variety of experiences and you only pay for the fish you take home. Children can have a go in the children's pond, you can have an hour's one-on-one hour session or a full day's tuition if you're a novice.

Moorhen Trout Fishery

The three-acre lake is fed by natural springs and adjacent to the River Meon, just upstream from the Warnford watercress beds. Regularly re-stocked with lively rainbow trout, the fishing lodge has a log fire and a shop stocking equipment and light refreshments, or you're just two minutes from the George and Falcon pub. Tickets include a fishing licence, you can hire equipment and one-on-one novice tuition is available.

Wherwell Priory Fishing

Positioned on an idyllic hundred-acre island in the middle of the River Test, there are two beats: the Park Beat; and the Priory Beat, both about the same length with section that can be fished from the banks or wading. Day rods are available through Fishing Breaks.
