Local Attractions for Animal Lovers

If you’re an animal lover and enjoy visiting attractions where you can see all sorts of animals, there’s plenty to choose from locally. Many of the attractions mean you can get close to the animals and even hands on, which is a fantastic experience for the younger family members. 

From walking with Alpacas to farms, birds and zoos, there’s something for everyone making for a great day out.

Sky Park Deer Farm is a deer farm in West Harting, near Petersfield where deer are bred and farmed. You can get close up to the herds of Red and Sika deer, children can enjoy the adventure playground, explore the visitor centre or enjoy a picnic in the grounds. Find out more…

Meon Valley Alpacas in Droxford offer experiences and courses in handling Alpacas. The experience includes feeding and helping to care for the Alpacas and if you’re lucky, helping with the baby Alpacas known as ‘crias’. Miller’s Ark is a farm in Hook, Hampshire specialising in rare breeds such as Belted Galloways, rare sheep breeds and Pygmy goats. Kune Kune pigs, miniature Mediterranean donkeys, ducks, geese and chickens also live on the farm. Manor Farm, just outside Southampton, is a fantastic day out for the whole family where you can get close to the farm animals, and explore the traditional farm house. Animals include ducks and geese, rabbits and guinea pigs, cattle, sheep, alpacas and pigs. The farmhouse dates back to 1400 and you can see how people lived back in time.
