Enjoy a Spring Break at Wallops Wood

With the lockdown restrictions now easing in the UK and the future looking brighter, many people’s thoughts are now towards having a much needed break and change of scenery after months of working from home.

Springtime is a wonderful time of year to get out and about, before the schools break up for the summer and the crowds that come with it. The weather is often nice enough for spending time outside, watching the countryside coming to life after winter, enjoying the light evenings and al fresco eating.

Escaping the Four Walls

Even if you still need to work, sometimes just changing the four walls you work within can do wonders for your productivity and creativity. Being able to get out of the city into fresh air (we are just an hour from London), enjoy the beautiful nature that surrounds Wallops Wood and take proper breaks between work can make such a difference to your wellbeing. The cottages are spacious and all have good wifi. At the end of the day you can relax in your own hot tub and enjoy the surrounding scenery and views from the patio.

Getting Out & About

Mid-weeks are cheaper and less busy here at Wallops Wood. It’s a great time to make the most of popular beauty spots being less crowded along with fewer visitors at local gardens and attractions, also making social distancing easier. Many National Trust gardens have remained open throughout the winter with pre-booking essential, so why not make the most of going during the week when there are less people about? We have several gardens on our doorstep such as Hinton Ampner and Mottisfont which also has a wonderful display of roses in late spring and summer.

Eating Out

Now that local pubs are re-opening for garden drinks and food (from 12 April), enjoy an al fresco pint and meal as long as the weather is on our side! Local pubs that will be open include The Bakers Arms in Droxford, The Shoe in Exton, The Thomas Lord in West Meon and The White Lion in Soberton.

Swimming Pool

With booking on a rota basis for each cottage, you can make sure you enjoy a 45 minute daily swim in our lovely heated pool, all to yourself! This has proved to be very popular with our guests and we will be continuing with our rota for the foreseeable future.
