Wallops Wood Cottages win TWO GOLDS in the prestigious The Beautiful South Awards for Excellence 2019/2020 !
As a small family business based in the beautiful South Downs National Park , winning two prestigious awards has meant that we have been eating cake all week! We do like cake and chocolate ????
On Tuesday 11th December 2019, we won Gold! Twice!
Swayed by the new indoor pool or all the accessible equipment we offer for free? Apparently it was much more than that and we are delighted with the judges complimentary words.
What did the judges say
Wallops Wood Cottages wowed the judges to collect the top accolade at The Beautiful South Awards for Excellence 2019/2020 in two categories: Self Catering Accommodation of the Year and the Accessible and Inclusive Tourism Award.
Only four businesses received two Gold Awards for 2019/2020; Wallops Wood Cottages, Hever Castle, Goodwood, and Blenheim Palace! It is amazing to be in such illustrious company!
Impressive competition for a small family business
Wallops Wood Cottages faced strong competition from 80 other South East best tourism businesses. Other finalists for the Accessible and Inclusive Tourism Award included the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton, Winchester Science Centre, and Wetwheels and Hovertravel.
The awards, held at The Grand Hotel in Brighton , showcased a sumptuous evening of entertainment and delicious food. Hosted by travel journalist and broadcaster Simon Calder who is the Travel Correspondent for The Independent . A fantastic night with the the best tourism businesses in the South East meeting up and exchanging tips and ideas.
The judges said the “very high quality offering” of our self-catering accommodation is impressive and that “accessibility is at the heart of everything they do”.
