With life having thrown all sorts of things at us over the last few months, it’s no surprise that all many of us have been thinking about is escaping from daily life at home, switching off and forgetting about what’s going on in the world, even if it’s for just a few days.
Many of our guests come from towns and cities across the UK, and have been missing not only getting out of their own immediate area, but the wide open spaces of the countryside and fresh air. Getting back in touch with nature has been an important part of the lockdown for many people and now seeing guests being able to relax in the cottage garden, make the most of the beautiful countryside that surrounds us has been fantastic for them and for us. We were so pleased when we were able to open our door to guests again on 4 July.

Local Walks
Wallops Wood is located in the heart of the South Downs National Park in Hampshire. It’s a beautiful and quiet location, where you can relax with the sounds of nature, and no traffic anywhere near the cottages! The South Downs National Park stretches all the way from Winchester to Eastbourne, has some spectacularly beautiful scenery and is a popular destination for walkers with many scenic walks to choose from.
Straight from the doorstep of your cottage are many lovely walks, we have laminated cards in our cottages for our guests to use with many local routes. Take yourself off for a wonder around the area and appreciate what nature has to offer. Take a picnic, go and explore for as long as you want!

There are 7 walks locally varying from 30 minutes to 2 hours, which you can find here. All are on laminated cards in your cottage. Some of the walks can be done straight from the front door of your cottage and others are a short drive away. Either way, you’ll be out in the countryside, breathing in the fresh air and away from the crowds. What’s not to love!

How We are Protecting Our Guests
