Activities for Little Ones Near Wallops Wood

We know how important it is for every member of the family to enjoy their holidays, from the youngest to the oldest. This week we’ve put together some ideas for the younger members of the family and fun days out to keep them busy and happy 🤩

Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park is always a big hit with the younger members of the family! There are 9 fun rides suitable for young children and perfect for toddlers! Meet Peppa Pig and George who appear every day. Rides include Grumpy Rabbit’s Sailing Club, Peppa’s Big Balloon Ride and Grandpa Pig’s Little Train. Entry also includes all the rides at Paultons Park.

Winchester Science Centre – Experience an action-packed family day out that’s perfect whatever the weather and explore the world of science, technology, engineering and maths. There are fun and interactive exhibits including an enormous 10m long playable guitar and the Space zone. Take in live science shows and huge demos. Fly through the Solar System in the UK’s largest standalone Planetarium! There’s something for everyone at the Winchester Science Centre.

Manor Farm is a historic working farm which is great fun to explore. Visit the farm animals which include ducks, geese, rabbits, guinea pigs, sheep, cattle and alpacas. As well as the animals are play areas, the farm buildings to investigate, wildlife ponds and den buildings. There’s plenty to do and see for all the family to enjoy.

Bluereef Aquarium in Portsmouth allows you to get close to an array of marine life, including tropical fish, amphibians, turtles and otters. There are fascinating talks to attend and not forgetting the all-important feeding times for the marine animals. Learn about their conservation efforts to help educate future generations to care for the oceans and marine life that inhabit them.

Blue Reef Aquarium a perfect family day out from Wallops Wood

Fort Nelson is home to the national collection of artillery. You can explore this massive Victorian fort with its deep tunnels, high ramparts and enjoy the spectacular views over the Solent .There’s a range of indoor and outdoor events for the family including a junior assault course, a maze and interactive trails. Entry is free but you need to book tickets in advance. 

Wallops Wood Experiences

Back at your cottage we offer a range of baking experiences which are great for children of all ages from 2- 92 and beyond! These include Chocolate Brownie Making, Pizza Making, Gingerbread & Biscuit Baking and Decorating. And particularly for adults, there’s Espresso Mocha Ice Cream to make, which is soooo easy!
